Aren’t they so adorable!

This is their first little Spring time outfit. They were Easter gifts from Aunt Tami (Jim’s Sister). I love dressing them in cute little outfits. I try to make sure they have plenty of pink on when we go out. I can’t wait until they have more hair so I can put bows in their hair. No matter how much pink they are covered in, someone always says, “one boy and one girl?” or “are they both girls?” I think they are too beautiful to look like boys. Hopefully, it will be easier to recognize them as girls once they have hair. I try not to let it get to me when people ask me that. I guess it is better to ask rather than say something like "Isn't he a handsome fella." That would be bad. :)

Exercise Time

Alyssa and Hannah love playing on their activity mats. I got one that is ocean and one is the jungle. They love to look in the mirrors and kick the toys hanging down. They have discovered that if they kick, it makes noise and music for them. They are getting so big and changing everyday. I love getting down on the floor and playing with them. They are such a joy.

More changes in the Scherck family

Guess what everyone, we have moved again! Not too far just into another house. We had one set of house parents quit and so our bosses asked us to take the house with 10 girls. It is a bigger house and we are quite enjoying the experience of having 10 girls. They are great and are all very helpful with cooking, cleaning and helping with the babies. Last week was Spring Break and we had a great time going to Gatlinburg and Dollywood. I rode all the roller coasters with them and had a blast. We are loving this new life and really feel we are making a difference in their lives.

More Pictures

Hello all! I found a cool way to put more pictures on here. Thanks to my friend Carrie M. for the idea. :) I hope you enjoy these slide shows. I love watching them and making them. If the slide shows stop, just click refresh on your address bar and they will start again. :)

Birthday Pictures

The big day! Our precious babies entered the world on the evening of February 6, 2008 at 8:47pm. What a glorious day. We will treasure these wonderful memories forever.

Our little cabin

Here is our cute little cabin we are living in now. It is really cute inside too. The walls are all wood and the floors too. We are in the top and our school girls have their own bedroom, living room and bath downstairs. They come upstairs for meals and family time. It is really nice. The stream in front is beautiful. We also have a little pond with fish in it. The girls actually caught two catfish the other day.

Alyssa (Sweet Pea)

Here are some pictures of Alyssa. She is our snuggling sweet pea. Gidget loves to snuggle up next to the girls too.

Hannah's First smile

Wow! Hannah has really started to look right in our eyes and smile at us. This is a little smile. Sometimes she gives us a great big one. Alyssa is smiling too, but I have not been able to catch her with the camera yet. She is not as laid back and easy to photograph like Hannah. If I lay Alyssa down to take her picture, she usually starts crying. :) I will keep trying. I love to take pictures of them. Everyday they look a little different or make a new adorable face I want to capture and remember forever.

Pictures of the girls together

It is so tough to get a good picture of them both together. One is usually awake and quiet and the other is crying. Here are some attempts. I think they are still beautiful even if they are crying. :)

Sleeping Princesses

Hanging out in the Boppy

The girls both love to hang out in the Boppy during the day. We only have one so they have to take turns. Usually I have one in the Boppy and I carry one in the Snuggli (like a baby backpack). I love watching them. There are so many cute faces they make when awake and asleep. (Alyssa covered with blanket, Hannah is the cutie on duty)

My new life as Mommy

I am loving it!! It is the best thing in the world, to be a full time wife and mother. I am so grateful for this blessing in our lives. Even though they keep us very busy, I would not trade it for anything.

Alyssa loves Daddy

Alyssa, we have discovered is a "high needs" baby. She needs to be held, she needs to be worn in the Snuggli, she needs to be feed by Daddy. She is a fussy eater and cries and thrashes around a lot when she eats. We thought it was an allergy to the formula. We tried several different formulas until we finally realized it didn't matter what she eats as much as how she eats. She has a specific routine of eating, burping and snuggling that she likes. Daddy figured it out first (probably because he is high needs too.) :)

Our mountain view

We have moved again! This time it is for the best reason of all, the babies. Jim did not want me to have to go back to work. We both prayed for a wy that it would be possible for me to stay home, or even better both of us be at home as much as possible. We want to be the primary care givers for our daughters. We dreaded giving them over to strangers. Not to mention the outreagous cost of daycare. My sweet husband made this possible for us (and Heavenly Father answered our prayers and helped make this move possible too). We are in Mars Hill NC. We are working at a boarding school helping to care for girls who need some extra help, guidance and love in their lives. We will be provided a beautiful log home, all utilities, food and a van. We will be paid to be loving parents. We will be able to be at home with just our daughters while the girls are in school. It is really going to be a wonderful experience and we feel it is a way to serve the Lord by helping His children. The area is beautiful. The home being built for us is a gorgeous custom built 5000 sq ft log home. We are staying in our bosses home right now(that is the home in the picture). I will add pictures of our home when it is completed later this year. The views here are fantastic. We are right across from a ski resort. I can't even explain how beautiful it is in words. I will just have to add more pictures.

4 and a 1/2 weeks

Here are some more recent pictures. It is really hard to get both of them to look at me at the same time to get a really good picture of both. One will wiggle or close her eyes and then the other will make a face. It is so fun taking pictures of them all dressed up in the adorable outfits we recieved from friends and family.

Dr. Stern and First Doctor visit

Here is the Dr. who delivered the girls and their first pediatrician visit. They checked out super healthy. The OB Dr. said they were the biggest twins he had ever delivered. :) We are so blessed to have such healthy girls. Both Dr.s were great. Dr. Stern was on the best Dr.s in Orlando list 3 years in a row. He was fantastic and funny. Dr. Cardona was the pediatrician. He was so nice and gentle with the girls. He took his time and answered all my questions. He even re-dressed the girls for me when he was done examining them. It was a great experience. It is really fun doing all these new things I never had the opportunity to do before I became a mommy.
Hannah in Purple and Alyssa in Pink.

Two Peas in a Pod

(Alyssa in pink and Hannah in green) That's what daddy likes to call us. They are the 2 peas and I am the pod. We are all doing great. The girls are eating and gaining weight and looking more and more beautiful everyday. We are really getting to know them and they are really as different as two kids can be. Alyssa has become the louder fussier one now. Hannah is more calm, but really lets you know when she wants something. They look very different too. Their hair, ears, noses even skin tone are so different. Their cries are different and we can tell who is crying. They like different things. Alyssa loves to be bundled in a blanket and will lay perfectly still. Hannah wants her arms out and moves around until she gets them out. Alyssa doesn't like to suck a pacifier and Hannah does. Alyssa is a fussy eater and takes forever but she is a good burper. Hannah is slow and steady when eating and will empty a bottle quickly, but then she doesn't want to burp. It is amazing how different they are. We are in love with them and loving every minute we spend with them. We are learning them and they are getting to know us too. When their daddy picks them up they stop crying. They love to hear his deep voice. He talks to them and tells them stories while he helps feed one in the middle of the night. He is a phenomenal dad. I love watching him change diapers and hold them and feed them. He only passes them to me once they start throwing up. He is not real good with that yet. :) They are sleeping well at night if we don't let them sleep too much during the day. If we have been out during the day, they sleep in their car seats too much and then have a hard time going to sleep at night. We try to keep them awake more in the evening so they will sleep when we are ready to sleep. On good days, we get them down between 10 and 11pm and then they wake up between 1 and 2am and then again between 5 and 6 am. Then I might be able to get them to sleep in a little more till about 8 or so. It is getting better. The first 2 weeks or so, I thought I would never sleep again. Each week gets a little better. They are napping right now that is the only way I can get stuff added to this :) I only have a little time between feedings. I will try to do my best to keep adding more pictures. Keep checking in for updates. :) Love to you all!

Gidget loves the girls too!

Gidget has done great with the girls. We thought she might be a little jealous, but she has not. Instead she has been protective of them from the beginning. She will come up on my lap if I am holding one and sniff her and then lay down on my legs perfectly content. If the girls are laying down on the bed with me, she will lay right beside them. She snuggled up with Jim holding Alyssa and I had to get a picture. It is amazing to us how good she is with them. I just know they will love playing with her once they get a little bigger and She will love playing with them too.
