World Travelers!
Well if you haven't heard yet, the Schercks are moving to Canada. The school we worked for in NC could no longer afford to keep our position, so we were let go a couple weeks ago. We were disappointed at first because we didn't want to leave the girls we had developed relationships with, but the inconsistencies in the program were a concern for us. We got several calls back very quickly from the many resumes Jim put out on the internet. We got intervews done by conference calls and were offered a position in Calgary, Alberta Canada. I know it is far away, but there are many positives for our family. We know that the Lord has His hand in our lives and guides us to where He needs us. We feel very strongly that there is a reason we were here in NC for these past 6 months and there is a reason that we are going to Canada now. We love what we do and couldn't imagine doing anything else. We feel that we are serving the Lord and making such a difference in the lives of the kids that come into our home. We are truly looking forward to this new adventure. We are on the road right now traveling to Jacksonville to spend some time with family before going up there. We are all packed up in our 24 foot enclosed utility trailer. Jim is a phenomenal packer and has everything strapped down. It took a lot of work to get us all packed up this time with the babies needing us so much. Jim has built a bedroom for us in the front . Our king mattress is up on a platform with room underneath for 34 tubs of stuff. Then he has a closet system for our hanging clothes and a tub system that we bought at IKEA for our clothes and stuff. It is really great! He is a genius! That way we can stop when we need to along the way. Since we are going to another country, we need pictures to cross the border. We had the hardest time getting the babies to be still and look straight. The slide show pictures are the result of shooting continuous shots in hopes we would catch them looking straight. I made noises while Jim held them. They just wanted to look at Daddy. At one point Jim had Alyssa on his head so she couldn't see him, but she decided to play with his hair and still did not look up. We thought they were so cute.

Yellow Fun!
We are sitting up on our own now!
The girls are reaching milestones all the time. They have become very good at sitting up on their own. I was propping them with pillows and sitting on the floor with them. Now I can put them down and let them play with toys. They are good for a little while, then they want me again. Hannah will cry if Alyssa gets to close or bumps into her. Alyssa seems to be the one getting ready to crawl first. Hannah has the stance, but she doesn't move forward. Alyssa will get up on all 4's then put her head on the floor and roll over and sit back up. She does it several times until she makes it across the floor. It is so cute. She is so determined to get somewhere. That is why Daddy calls her Zoom-Zoom. :) Gidget loves it when the girls are on the floor. She comes and checks them out and gives them a few kisses. They love her and light up when she comes by them.
Look what Hannah got into
I had feed them some cereal, and left the left overs on the floor under the Boppy. I thought it was out of the way. At this time they weren't getting around too much. I was getting something and had put Hannah on the floor to play with toys. She had other ideas. She had it all over the place in a matter of seconds. I of course grabbed the camera before grabbing a towel. :) Alyssa wanted some too. You can see her reaching out for it. They are both so amazing. They do something new everyday.

Camping fun!
The twins went on their first camping trip at 51/2 months old. We had a great time. We went to Lake Hartwell in SC with all the girls from the school. There was a tornado within a couple hours of us getting there the first day. We had to go hide in the bathrooms until the wind died down. A tree came down on our campsite kitchen so they sent us back home for a night and then we returned when the weather was better. It ended up being a great trip. It was a little hot, but Daddy bought us a big screened room to keep the babies in the shade. It was much cooler in there. They did great. They went in the water and slept pretty much through the night. I got the cutest little hats for them and a swim tee and swim diapers. They looked so cute. We also got blow up boats for them to sit in. They liked being in the boats and kicking their feet in the water. We love building these wonderful memories with them.
4th of July
The girl's first 4th of July was fun. We had a nice day with our big girls and Jim grilled good food for us. Then in the evening we went up to the ski lodge just a couple mile from our house to watch the fireworks. From where we were sitting, we could see 3 sets of fireworks. I worried the babies would not like it, but they were fine. Hannah especially likes the light. They cried a little, but they were fine as long as we held them. Then on the evening if the 5th we took al the girls to a minor league baseball game in Asheville. The Asheville Tourist is the team and they are really good. The babies were good and the big girls loved watching the teams play. After the game we went onto the field and they turned the lights out and we watched another great fireworks show. It was really awesome. We all had a great weekend.
