The girls are almost here!!

We are so excited!! The girls should be here within a week. The Dr. said I have dilated a little (1cm), I am also having some slight contractions. Jim has taken me to walk the mall one night and tonight we walked around IKEA. We are hoping that things will move along. The Dr. said at the appointment today he said he would not be surprised if I go into labor anytime now. He said they are past the average time for twins and both are the same size and everything looks great! We are pretty sure they will come this week and not wait until February. The Dr. said he will induce me on Feb. 6th if they don't come on their own. So for sure they will be here in the next week and 2 days. Jim and I are ready for them to be here tonight. Every time I make a little sound or breathe hard, Jim asks if we need to go to the hospital. :) He is staying close to me and calling me through the day so he can be with me to take me to the hospital. I went ahead and took this week off work so I can be at home when things start happening. It was added stress worrying that things might happen in front of my students. :) It is getting harder for me to get around and be on my feet too. I just need to be at home and relax and prepare for the real work to begin. Maybe the next time I post it will be about the girls' birth!! Keep checking in. :)

We're in the home stretch!!

It is getting sooo close! We are in the final weeks. I went to the doctor yesterday and he said everything is going great. After I got the Rhogam shot (because I am Rh- blood) and started taking iron pills (I was anemic), I started feeling much better. He said They could come anytime now and they would be fine. We still want them to stay in there until the end of January. Then the ultrasound showed that they are both head down! This is great news because I won't have to have a c-section if they both stay that way. I would prefer to have them normally if at all possible. The recovery time will be much faster. They have also both added about a pound. They both are estimated to weigh right at 5 lbs. right now. Hopefully they will continue to add on some weight and be closer to 6 lbs at birth. Lower weight is expected for multiples, but from what I have read anything above 51/2 lbs. is really great and will only help them be healthy.

We are getting so excited and are looking forward to having them in our arms soon.

Keep checking in to the blog for more updates. :)
